The K.Yairi YW-500R is a vintage hand-crafted acoustic from K.Yairi’s respected YW series, built during a period when Japanese luthier craftsmanship was at its peak. Made in Japan in the famous Kani workshop, the YW-500R reflects K.Yairi’s dedication to tone, design detail, and playability – now highly sought after by collectors and serious players.
This dreadnought features a solid spruce top, paired with rosewood back & sides, a rosewood fingerboard, and a rosewood bridge. The elegant multi-ply binding give it a refined vintage look, while the beautifully aged amber top adds plenty of character.
Tonally, it delivers a rich, open voice with excellent projection. The low end is warm and defined, the mids are musical, and the highs are clear and sweet. It responds beautifully to both strumming and fingerstyle, with the mature, resonant character you would expect from a well-made vintage Japanese acoustic.
This example is in very good vintage condition with light cosmetic playwear for its age (see photos). No cracks, repairs, or structural issues. The neck is straight, the frets have been cleaned and polished, and the guitar has been set up with a comfortable action of approx. 2.5mm on the low E and 2.0mm on the high E at the 12th fret.
