1970s Takamine No.30 Classical Guitar
Hand Crafted | Made in Japan | Solid Top | Hiscox Hard Case
£745.00
The Takamine No.30 is a beautifully handcrafted vintage classical guitar from Takamine’s early Japanese production era — a time when traditional luthiery techniques and premium tonewoods were at the heart of every instrument.
This model is clearly marked “Handcrafted by Takamine Japan”, highlighting its build quality and attention to detail — something rarely seen on later mass-produced instruments.
Built in Japan during the 1970s golden era, the No.30 delivers a refined and expressive playing experience, ideal for classical repertoire as well as modern fingerstyle players.
Featuring a solid spruce top paired with rosewood back and sides, this guitar produces a rich, warm tone with deep bass response, clear trebles, and excellent sustain. The rosewood adds depth and complexity, giving it a more premium, mature voice compared to standard mahogany models.
The guitar has been cleaned, polished, and set up for comfortable playability, with an action of approximately 3.5mm (low E) / 2.5mm (high E) at the 12th fret — ideal for a responsive and dynamic classical feel.
A bone saddle upgrade further enhances sustain and clarity, bringing out the full tonal potential of the instrument.
It comes with a high-quality Hiscox hard case, offering excellent protection and adding significant value.
Condition is very good for its age. There are light cosmetic signs of use consistent with a vintage instrument, but no structural issues. The neck is straight, and the guitar plays cleanly across the fretboard.
