1970s Yamaha C-300

Made in Japan | Solid Spruce Top | Vintage Amber Finish | Hard Case | Mature Classical Tone

£540.00

The Yamaha C-300 is a respected vintage classical model from Yamaha’s golden-era Japanese production period in the late 1970s, built at the renowned Nippon Gakki factory in Japan. These MIJ Yamaha classical guitars are known for their excellent craftsmanship, stable necks, and warm, balanced tone, making them a favourite among players looking for authentic vintage character and reliable playability.

This late-1970s Yamaha C-300 features a solid spruce top paired with beautifully grained rosewood back and sides, delivering a clear, singing treble, warm midrange, and a rounded, woody bass response. After decades of natural ageing, the finish has developed a rich vintage amber colour, giving the guitar a classic look and a mature, open resonance that modern instruments simply can’t replicate.

The guitar has been fully cleaned and set up. Action is set for comfortable classical playability, measuring approximately 4.0mm (Low E) and 3.5mm (High E) at the 12th fret — ideal for expressive dynamics and traditional nylon-string feel.

Cosmetically, there are visible finish cracks on the top consistent with age-related lacquer checking. These are finish-only and do not go into the wood. There are no structural cracks, no repairs, and no stability issues. The neck is straight, frets are clean, and the guitar plays smoothly across the fingerboard.

A hard case is included for safe storage and transport.
