The Yamaha FG-251B is a high-quality Made in Japan acoustic from Yamaha’s classic FG series, produced during the 1970s golden era of Japanese guitar manufacturing. These vintage MIJ FG models are well known for their solid build quality, reliability, and balanced, musical tone that has stood the test of time.
This FG-251B features a spruce top paired with beautifully grained back and sides, offering a warm, open sound with clear fundamentals and a smooth, woody character. The back and sides display particularly attractive wood grain, giving the guitar a classy vintage appearance that looks even better in person.
It has been fully cleaned, inspected and freshly set up, with comfortable action measuring approx. 2.5mm (Low E) / 2.0mm (High E) at the 12th fret, making it easy to play while still retaining good projection and dynamic response.
Condition is excellent for its age, with a clean overall appearance, light cosmetic wear consistent with careful use, and no cracks, repairs or structural issues. The neck is straight, frets are tidy, and everything functions exactly as it should. A very honest, well-preserved vintage Yamaha.
