1979 Yamaha FG-301B
Made in Japan | Low Action | Original Hard Case | Ebony Fingerboard & Bridge
£550.00£500.00
The Yamaha FG-301B comes from Yamaha’s respected Made in Japan acoustic era — a period known for excellent craftsmanship, stable construction, and reliable tone. Built in 1979, this model reflects the honest build quality and musical voice that made Yamaha’s FG series so popular among players.
Featuring a spruce top with rosewood back and sides, this dreadnought produces a clear, bright and balanced sound with strong projection. It responds well to both strumming and fingerstyle playing, offering articulate highs and a focused low end that sits nicely in both solo and ensemble settings.
This particular example features an ebony fingerboard and bridge, giving it a smooth playing feel, strong note definition, and excellent durability. The guitar also benefits from ebony bridge pins, adding a tasteful player-focused touch to this vintage Yamaha.
The guitar remains in very good overall condition, showing light signs of careful use consistent with age. Importantly, there are no cracks, repairs, or structural issues. The neck is straight, the frets are healthy, and the guitar plays comfortably with a low action setup (Low E ≈ 2mm / High E ≈ 1.5mm at the 12th fret).
It has been professionally cleaned and setup in our UK workshop, with the fingerboard conditioned and the frets polished, so it’s ready to be enjoyed straight away.
A original Yamaha hard case is included for protection and safe transport.
