1980s Yamaha FG-315B
Made in Japan | Bone Nut | Vintage Dreadnought | Warm Tone
£399.00
The Yamaha FG-315B is part of Yamaha’s well-regarded FG line from the early 1980s, proudly Made in Japan. With its orange label and classic dreadnought body, this model offers excellent build quality, projection, and tonal warmth – making it a great choice for both vintage collectors and working musicians.
It features a spruce top with mahogany back and sides, paired with a rosewood fingerboard and bridge. The natural gloss finish highlights the wood grain beautifully, and the traditional tortoiseshell-style pickguard adds vintage character. A bone nut has been installed, improving string-to-string clarity, sustain, and overall tonal response.
Tonally, the FG-315B delivers a warm, balanced voice with crisp highs and full lows, ideal for strumming and fingerpicking alike.
This example is in good vintage condition with only light cosmetic wear (see photos). No cracks or repairs. The frets and fingerboard have been cleaned and polished, and the action is comfortable at approx. 2.5mm on the low E / 1.75mm on the high E at the 12th fret – great for easy playing without buzzing.
