Made in Japan | Solid Top | Hard Case | Low Action | Vintage Guitar
£649.00£550.00
The Yamaha FG-400D is an early-80s MIJ model built during Yamaha’s strong post-FG “D-series” era — known for solid-top construction, reliable build quality, and a clear, projecting tone. These Japanese-made models remain highly regarded among players for their consistency, value, and musical versatility.
This FG-400D features a solid spruce top with nato back and sides, giving it a bright, articulate voice with good volume and definition. The top is decorated with beautiful green abalone-style celluloid purfling, adding a striking vintage look without being overly flashy. It has been fully cleaned, polished and freshly set up with low action at approx. 2.0mm (low E) / 1.75mm (high E).
The guitar comes with a hard case, offering safe transport and storage.
Condition is excellent for its age: light cosmetic wear only, but no cracks or structural issues. Neck is straight, frets are clean, and the guitar plays smoothly with a responsive, lively tone.
