1981 Yamaha G-70A

Made in Japan | Vintage Classical Tone | Nippon Gakki Craftsmanship

£240.00

The Yamaha G-70A is a lovely vintage nylon-string guitar from Yamaha’s respected late-1970s to early-1980s Japanese production era — a time when Yamaha instruments were built with consistency, reliability, and excellent tonal balance.

Based on its serial number, this example dates to around 1981, placing it in the later period of Yamaha’s Made in Japan production under Nippon Gakki.

This guitar delivers a warm, mellow, and rounded classical tone, with a soft and balanced response that works beautifully for fingerstyle, light classical repertoire, or relaxed home playing. It has that unmistakable aged nylon-string character — smooth, open, and musical.

The action measures approximately 3.5mm on the Low E and 3.0mm on the High E at the 12th fret, offering a comfortable and player-friendly setup compared to traditional high classical action.

Cosmetically, this guitar shows visible signs of age, including surface marks, small dings, and finish wear across the top and body, as shown in the photos. These are purely cosmetic — no structural issues, and the guitar remains solid, stable, and fully functional.

In fact, this natural aging adds to the guitar’s vintage character, giving it an authentic, well-played look that many players appreciate.
