1983 Takamine TDC-35

Made In Japan | Cutaway Dreadnought | Excellent Condition | Rare Model

£410.00

The Takamine TDC-35 is a rare May 1983 Made in Japan acoustic from Takamine’s vintage production era — a period when Japanese builders were producing beautifully crafted instruments with strong attention to detail, reliability, and tone.

Built during the golden era of Japanese guitar making, the TDC-35 features a distinctive cutaway dreadnought body, making it an excellent choice for players who want the full projection and depth of a dreadnought, with the added practicality of easier upper fret access.

The guitar features a spruce top paired with Mahogany back and sides, producing a warm, balanced tone with strong low-end presence, clear mids, and crisp highs. The cutaway dreadnought body gives it a powerful acoustic voice while remaining versatile for both strumming and melodic playing.

This guitar has been fully cleaned, polished, and professionally set up, with a comfortable action of approximately 2.5mm (low E) / 2.0mm (high E) at the 12th fret, making it easy and enjoyable to play.

Finished in a beautifully aged vintage sunburst gloss, the TDC-35 has a classic early-80s Japanese acoustic look that stands out from more common Takamine models.

Condition is excellent for a 40+ year old vintage instrument. There are minor cosmetic signs of age and light surface marks consistent with normal use, but there are no cracks, structural repairs, or major issues. The neck is stable, frets remain in good shape, and the guitar plays beautifully.
