1993 Takamine PT-108

Solid Flamed Sycamore Top | Electro-Acoustic | Original Hard Case | Made in Japan

£750.00

The PT-108 represents Takamine’s golden era of Japanese craftsmanship, built in 1993. Unlike the more common spruce/rosewood builds of its Santa Fe and Natural series siblings, this rare model features a striking solid flamed sycamore (maple) top, paired with mahogany back and sides. The result is a guitar with brilliant clarity and projection, balanced by warm low-mids from the mahogany body.

As a true electro-acoustic, it comes equipped with Takamine’s original factory preamp and pickup system, fully functional and delivering the legendary stage-ready tone that made Takamine a top choice for professionals worldwide.

This guitar remains in excellent playing condition, with only some cosmetic finish clouding/whitish patches typical of age. There are no cracks, lifting, or structural issues. Action is low and comfortable (Low E ≈ 2.25mm / High E ≈ 1.75mm at the 12th fret). Includes its original Takamine hard case.

🎼 Why this guitar?

Since the 1970s, Takamine Japan has been synonymous with stage-ready electro-acoustic guitars. The PT-108 is a standout from this golden era – with its solid flamed sycamore top providing sparkle and projection, mahogany back and sides adding warmth, and its original electronics delivering professional stage performance.

While Santa Fe and Natural series models from the same period are better known, the PT-108 is far less common, making it attractive to both players and collectors. With its comfortable small jumbo body, low action, and reliable electronics, this is a professional-grade electro-acoustic ready for studio, stage, or collection.
